Welcome to PPM Comedy Spotlight, where we take the things we're pretending to have figured out and laugh at them instead.

Because after 30, you don't just have a skincare routine.

You have a maintenance schedule.

And somehow, you're still aging.

THE SKINCARE ROUTINE

When you're in your 20s, skincare is:

"Oh, I washed my face."

After 30?

It's a 12-step hostage negotiation.

Cleanser. Toner. Serum. Eye cream. Moisturizer. SPF.

Then there's the mysterious little bottle you bought because someone online said it would "transform your skin."

You don't even know what's in it anymore.

You're just standing in the bathroom at 11:47 p.m. applying something that costs $68 while whispering:

"Please work."

At this point, my skincare routine has more steps than my career.

And somehow my face still wakes up looking like it has questions.

THE MIRROR BETRAYAL

You know what's rude?

Looking fantastic in the bathroom mirror and then seeing yourself in the front-facing camera.

Who authorized that angle?

I didn't look like that five minutes ago.

Now suddenly I look like I was captured by a security camera during a bank investigation.

And don't even zoom in.

After 30, zooming in on your own face is basically self-harm with Wi-Fi.

ONLINE SHOPPING

Online shopping after 30 is different.

When you're younger:

"OMG! I need this!"

After 30:

"Does this come in a machine-washable fabric?"

You're no longer shopping for clothes.

You're conducting a risk assessment.

Will it wrinkle?

Will it shrink?

Can I sit down in it?

Can I eat in it?

Does it require a special bra?

And most importantly:

Can I return it without having to print something?

Because that's where I draw the line.

THE PACKAGE ARRIVES

You wait four days.

You track the delivery like it's carrying your inheritance.

"Out for delivery."

Your heart starts racing.

The package arrives.

You open it.

And suddenly you're holding a shirt that looks absolutely nothing like the one worn by the six-foot-two model with a professional stylist, perfect lighting and the body proportions of an architectural rendering.

You put it on.

You look in the mirror.

The shirt says:

"Effortless chic."

Your reflection says:

"Call somebody."

FASHION TRENDS ARE GASLIGHTING US

Every few years fashion comes back around like it forgot what happened last time.

Low-rise jeans?

Absolutely not.

We survived that era.

We have lower-back trauma.

We have evolved.

And now fashion wants us to believe something we wore in 2003 is suddenly "vintage."

No.

That's not vintage.

That's evidence.

And skinny jeans aren't "out."

They're sitting in our closets waiting for fashion to apologize.

Meanwhile, wide-leg jeans have entered the chat like:

"Don't worry, we've got room for everybody."

Finally.

A fashion trend with emotional intelligence.

THE REALITY OF BEING OVER 30

The funny thing about getting older is that you actually become more confident.

You stop caring what everyone thinks.

You know your style.

You know your skin.

You know what looks good on you.

You know what absolutely does not.

And then you walk into a store and see a 22-year-old wearing something you wore when you were 22.

Suddenly you're standing there thinking:

"Oh my God. She's wearing my childhood."

That's when you realize:

We're not old.

We're just becoming fashion historians against our will.

THE SURPRISE TWIST

Here's the uncomfortable truth:

We're spending all this money trying to look younger...

while secretly wishing we had the confidence we have now when we were actually younger.

We didn't appreciate our skin.

We didn't appreciate our bodies.

We didn't appreciate our style.

We spent our 20s trying to become someone else.

Now we're in our 30s, 40s and beyond trying to become ourselves again—but with better moisturizer.

And honestly?

That's probably the best glow-up of all.

PPM FINAL VERDICT:

Keep the serum.

Return the pants.

Take the selfie from your good angle.

And absolutely do not zoom in.

Some truths don't need HD.
